Mended Little Hearts of Southern Wisconsin serves the greater Madison area. Working with American Family Children’s Hospital we offer several different programs to connect with families dealing with Congenital Heart Defects
Group Meetings
Join us on the 4th Monday of the Month for our Educational and Support Meetings from 5:30-7:00 at the American Family Children’s Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity to listen, share your experiences and discuss issues that impact the family. You are not alone in your journey.

Our next monthly meeting dates are:
August 23rd
September 26th
October 24th
November 21nd
If you are in need of support right away, call us at (608) 370-3739, and we will connect you with another parent via email or phone.
Hospital Visiting and Care packages
It is our goal that each family who is hospitalized at the American Family Children’s Hospital, as a result of their heart defect, receives a care package specifically designed for congenital heart defects. We are also developing our hospital visiting program where trained volunteers make personal visits to area hospitals providing the support, information and care that only a parent who has experienced CHD first hand can give.
Community Outreach
Mended Little Hearts works with several organizations to offer congenital heart defect education and awareness to both the medical community and the general public. The American Heart Association, Madison Affiliate has been an outstanding resource to get this done.
Connecting
Many people report feeling helpless and alone while caring for a child with a congenital heart defect. Mended Little Hearts offers many opportunities to connect with other parents and receive support in-person, by phone, or online. The first step in getting connected is to sign-up to become a member of Mended Little Hearts, at no cost to you. Sign-up for monthly our newsletters to stay connected with our local group. Attend a monthly meeting to meet other families. If you are in need of support right away, call us at (608) 370-3739, and we will connect you with another parent via email or phone.
When your world suddenly becomes filled with unknowns, information becomes critical. A couple of our favorite resources include the book It’s My Heart from the Children’s Heart Foundation and If Your Child has a Congenital Heart Defect – Our Guide for Parents from the American Heart Association. Both of these resources are available online. It may also be helpful to visit the website for the March of Dimes and the Adult Congenital Heart Association.
Social Gatherings
Sometimes, you just need to have fun! About twice a year, Mended Little Hearts of Southern Wisconsin provides opportunities to gather for food and fun!
